On the McInerney's property, two entrances mark the start and finish
of a meandering driveway which leads to a six-car garage. The driveway
runs across the entire property and returns to the street in a horseshoe,
while a walkway leads to an impressive pool deck. Sixteen-thousand
square feet of driveway, walkway, courtyard and pool deck are paved.
An autumn
blend color was selected in a mix of copper and brown, with a solid
brown square in the middle of the parquet pattern and a solid brown
border. These colors were selected to complement the color of the
house itself, as well as to mask potential leaf stains on this heavily
treed property. Solid colors were chosen to accent the border.
Contractor
Joseph Biondo says his work with concrete masonry landscaping products
got him into this exclusive residential market. "All I work with
is concrete masonry. When we complete a job, it always looks better
than expected. The blueprint doesn't do it justice," he says.
Biondo is president of Biondo Brothers Inc., in Shelby Township, MI,
which he partners with his brother Steven Biondo.
